Geheimnisvolle Orte

Music for the rbb documentary series. Composition, performance and mix. The series follows places that carry Berlin's history. Some are still standing, of others a piece of wall is left.

What music has to do in a documentary

The pictures mostly show facades, archive photographs, empty rooms. What is missing are the people who were there. That is exactly what the music has to carry: a mood that does not illustrate what can be seen anyway, but fills the gap beside it.

That is why the pieces vary in length and are built as loops. An edit moves, a commentary runs longer, and the music has to follow without a seam becoming audible.
